Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of PathMates, including optional AI trip-generation features. By using the app, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
PathMates is an early-stage product. PathMates is a technology platform providing tools for collaborative trip planning and discovery. We are NOT a travel agency or a tour operator, and we do not sell or organize travel packages.

2. Accounts and access
You must create an account to access trip content and collaboration features.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity under your account.
3. Your content and collaboration
You may create trips, stops, notes, prompts, and other content in PathMates ("User Content").
You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, reproduce, adapt, and display that content solely as needed to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Service. If you use AI features, you instruct us to send the relevant User Content and trip context to third-party AI providers on your behalf to generate itinerary suggestions. Those providers may include Google Gemini, Anthropic, OpenRouter, Groq, and, where routing services are used, the underlying model providers selected for a request.
When you share a trip or invite others, you authorize access to that content for those people. Trip organizers are individual users; PathMates does not employ organizers and is not responsible for their conduct or the feasibility of their plans.
4. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, attempt to bypass security, scrape data, submit malware, or interfere with the app or its users.
Do not upload unlawful, harmful, abusive, infringing, or deceptive content. Do not submit special category data or other highly sensitive personal data to AI features.
5. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, rate-limit, or discontinue features at any time, including AI features, to fix bugs, improve performance, change providers, manage abuse, or meet legal and compliance requirements.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that any specific AI provider or model will remain available.
6. Disclaimers
PathMates is provided "as is" and "as available" to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
AI-generated suggestions, places, and itineraries are informational only and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, or unsuitable for your needs. You are responsible for independently verifying details such as opening hours, prices, reservations, route conditions, safety, visas, local rules, and accessibility before acting on them. PathMates does not provide travel agency, booking, legal, medical, or insurance advice.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or are using the service in a way that could cause harm.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and transfer data, including when you use AI features. By using AI features, you acknowledge that relevant content may be processed by third-party AI providers as described there.
10. Updates to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, in-app).
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Milan (Foro di Milano), except for disputes involving consumers, for which the court of the consumer's place of residence or domicile shall have jurisdiction as required by law.
